My Gamer History, Chapter I: Early Childhood

Ever since I can remember, there has always been a computer in my life. Judging from some old videos, we had a ZX Spectrum even before I was born - mostly due to my dad being a technology geek (thankfully). As I look back now, games shaped my life and I learnt a lot through playing. It wouldn't be the same without them and sometimes it's fun to remember the unique history that we, the kids of the 90s, witnessed. As we grew, the games evolved with us and that is something you won't see happen twice.
Trivia: Can you name the game below?

Help, makeup addict traveling! - how to pack your makeup essentials

Those makeup fanatics among you that study abroad (or simply travel a lot) might find it difficult to pack all your makeup essentials and keep them safe while traveling. What to do when you simply can't fit your whole collection in your suitcase? What to take and what to leave behind? How to store everything? Is one mascara enough? Do I really need that extra foundation? And what about brushes?! Oh my, what a mess it´s gonna be!

Keep calm and start packing. Here's a few tips to make all that packing a little easier.

Kittyful Handbag, Handmade by my Mum!

Thought I would share a picture of one of my Christmas gifts. My mother made it herself and it's absolutely fabulous!

BB Cream and Foundation Swatches

I gathered some BB creams and foundations, each of which I bought in the past 3 years. I stick to the lightest shades, but as you can see in the picture, it can be very hard finding the right one, especially when your local drugstores don't believe in the luxury of testers.

How to beat sudden anxiety attacks in 15 minutes.

With all the stress from uni and life, I often find myself crushed under a heavy rock of anxiety. It comes and goes, and mostly, I never notice until I've pushed myself too far. I have always been against medications because they don't fix the problem, they just make you feel helpless and dependent on something else to "fix" you. But you might still be perfectly capable of doing that yourself! Give it a try!

I am not saying it's always possible to simply remove all the stress you need to deal with or "delete" anxiety. But when you find yourself in a position where you feel like you no longer can/want/need to go on, like the whole world around you is moving while you are stuck and screaming for help, then this is a simple recipe that might help many of you.

The key...is music. But not just any music! I know many of you heavy metal fans want to unleash hell and let your anger and bitterness fly loose. But sometimes it is better to admit that you are tired and unable to fight the whole world on your own.

And that is where *drums* MANTRAS come in handy!

A leap forward - me (shortly) about the art of writing.

I often think about how I used to love writing stories. The most important part of that sentence is "used to", because it's been ages since I wrote (not to mention finished writing) a story. Even as I write this, my mind goes into deja vu mode - this is definitely not the first time I am trying to get back to writing.

My Current Daily Makeup Favourites

While I do own half a ton of makeup toys, there's some that I like to use daily and some that I barely touch once a month. Here´s a selection of things I consider my personal favourites for everyday use.

First thing in the morning, I wash my face and apply Garnier Essentials cream with burdock extract. It's light and fresh, more like a gel than an actual cream. I suppose there are better products in the world, but this one fits me nicely and my skin absorbs it within seconds so I can move on to applying makeup right away.

Garnier BB cream - I picked the one for oily skin even though my face is not normally oily at all. Turns out it was a good choice though, this thing disappears like magic and is so easy to apply. Can't compare it to anything I've ever used before. It doesn't feel like a second layer of skin and fixes some of the dry patches that I often get on my nose. The texture is very liquid-y but doesn't need to dry longer than a few seconds. It works well in small wrinkles too and the smell is not annoying like with many other products. Definitely something I will keep buying over and over again.

Oriflame Beauty Conceal Kit - I am still looking for the perfect product to cover up my ever-present dark circles, but this one is (so far) my number one. It´s a bit "greasy" but at least it doesn´t create a thick layer like my other alternative - Catrice Camouflage Cream (huge no-no for this one).

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - While it might not rank no.1 among all the powders I've tried, it´s what I use daily. It´s often on sale for cheap, it doesn't create a visible powdery layer, and it brings everything together once I am done applying all the other stuff. I love it and I suppose I won´t be looking for a replacement anytime soon.

Freshest From January

January means exams for me.
Exams mean stress.
Stress means I shop a lot.
(Because you either need to cheer yourself up or reward yourself for success.)

Starting anew!

Welcome to my blog! Some of you lost internet travelers might remember me from the old times. Well this is a full reboot with (hopefully) better photos, better writing and better topics!

Hah, just kidding. I will do stuff the way I have always done it - MY WAY!

Here´s some of my stuff for you to drool over. Most of it is outdated now, I have done a loooot of shopping lately. But I will get to that soon :-) Have fun.
