Frogs, frogs everywhere.

Essence Road Trip and a whole lot of lip products!

Finally, after 2 months of expectations, checking online drugstore news, asking around, and endlessly hoping, I was able to see Essence's limited edition with my very own eyes. Luckily, I happened to "accidentally" walk right into it on the very first day so all the products were still available.

Essence Road Trip Styling Set > Let me just say that when I first saw it online, I wasn't expecting more than a cute item that has little to no functionality to it. But now that I had the opportunity to poke around a bit and test the brushes, it seems they are actually quite functional. The bristles are very soft and neat, not the pinching, irritating horror that I know from the old Essence eyeshadow brush. The tweezers look sturdy as well, with a very sharp tip that will be able to grab even the most difficult of hairs. This thing is going straight to my favourite handbag.
My second Road Trip item is the allround balm. I picked it up because I am able to destroy a whole container of lip balm in less than a month and it is always good to stock replacements. Remember the Balea Juicy Orange one? That is now half empty and I am alternating between 4 different products at the moment. Essence did a good job on the consistency, which is very smooth and easy to apply with your finger. It doesn't seem to melt in the warm summer temperatures. Bonus points for the large container.

The rest of Road Trip was nice as well, but I didn't really need any of them. Not to mention, my budget was already suffering a lot. The dry shampoo spray might have been worth a try, but for the occasional use, I can do with a cheaper dry shampoo. However, I couldn't leave without a lip product. One 25% coupon later, ASTOR Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter in 005 Pretty Poppy landed in my shopping basket.

The Alverde Oil was also discounted and has that rich spa smell that almost makes me dizzy but also reminds me of a relaxing afternoon in a scented sauna. For that price, this massaging oil will function as my leg-dezombifier to get that smooth, glossy, summer look.

And Coca Cola Lip Smacker? Don't even ask.
#that-moment-when-you-feel-guilty-about-spending-too-much-money-and-your-mom-points-you-to-another-thing-you-don't-need
I also got some facial creams by MIXA, but since I already have a neat pile of this brand's products waiting to be reviewed, I think I will leave these for later as well.

As always, stay tuned for more and remember to be fabulous...
even if your face is all red and covered with dry allergy patches!

Hold on a moment! I forgot something!

I just realized I forgot to mention one more item in my previous haul post. But I might as well give it its own post now, because I honestly think this product deserves a little promotion. Yup, it's a very basic sheer pink lipgloss but the container is worth it. Or am I the only frog lover around here?

Purchased at Wien Westbahnhof railway station.

Holiday Haul no.2 EYE MAKEUP

I came across the Holy Grail while visiting Vienna.
The three-metre Essence counter. I roamed Berlin up and down, unable to find one. And then I happened to meet this one in Vienna. Accidentally.

Juicy Orange by Balea

I am currently loving this lovely lip balm by Balea. It comes in a handy little tin package but you don't need to struggle much to open it + The warm summer temperatures keep it slightly melted so it's easy to apply. The balm itself feels very smooth and more importantly - it smells like orange juice! Love it!

Sweet Cup Lid from Ebay

Heya! Just popping round to show you this cute plastic cup lid. When you put it on and press inwards, the suction keeps it firmly on so you don´t have to balance so much when you carry the cups around. It also keeps your drink warm and protected from the dusty environment + it's super cute! I got mine from ebay for under 2 euro :-) Check them out and choose your style! It makes a perfect gift for your friends too!
Here's the whole collection!

Pastel Mint Green

Pastel mint colours were a major trend in Spring 2013. And it seems they rarely disappear from the shop counters since. Minty green nails, trousers, dresses, accessories or handbags are now standard in most people's wardrobes. Here's my two recent additions to the collection.

More Summery Goodness!

My most recent facial care products and some new arrivals from Oriflame!

While I do prefer thick, heavily moisturizing facial dreams in general (aka Garnier Moisture Match), I found myself switching to more lightweight products during these hot, almost-summer days.

My first choice was Essence My Skin Moisturizing Cream-gel, but unfortunately, it doesn´t really "do the thing" for my Sahara-dry face. (too bad, because it smells sooo amazing and the sparkles are absolutely gorgeous...) Therefore, I made another trip to the drugstore... and hello sales!

Also, a couple of things by Oriflame arrived today... Enjoy! ;-)

Stocking 4 the Summer!

Summer is here with its signature scorching temperatures and I was all out of UV protection. Here's a few items that I recently picked up, including a sunscreen spray, an orange lipstick, and similar useless stuff a person doesn't really need for their survival... Typical.

Lipstick Swatches! Rimmel, Oriflame, MUA, Catrice, Bell, Miss Sporty!

A year ago, I hardly felt like touching lipsticks at all. I had a few but I didn't feel like I want to wear them on a daily basis. Nowadays, I got used to expressing my mood through lipsticks, changing my lip colour as I go, sometimes three-four times a day. No wonder I ended up carrying some 10+ colours in my handbag wherever I go. Who knows how much a girl's mood can swing?

At school I am barbie pink, on my way to Prague I was rich fuchsia, traveling home I was timeless matte red. One might wonder what sort of mood would it need to be for me to wear some of these...

!!!Bear in mind that the colours as they appear in the photo can be somewhat different from the reality. I did my best but I think some of them came out lighter than they are once applied to the lips!!!

Marimo Season!

About a year ago, I ordered 2 marimo moss balls from Malaysia. They were tiny bundles of algae, strongly resembling tangled felt and I completely fell in love with them. They require very little attention, an occasional squeeze here and there, a change of water about every second week. When they are happy, they will puff oxygen bubbles from their photosynthetic activities. Perfect pets for someone who doesn't spend too much time at home. Now, one year later, I finally ordered a few more for my friends and myself. I was really surprised to see just how much the old ones have grown! (marimos grow about 5 millimeters a year.)

Bottom picture features a size comparison, the ones on the left being my 1 year olds.

So if you are considering buying some marimo balls for yourself, here's a few tips on how to keep them healthy...

Bling´a´ling!

Swiggity swaggity Swag. I bought a pile of blingy accessories at Sinsay + a shirt-like dress. Can someone explain to me why I NEVER entered this shop before? Usually, my size is M, here I am XS. Prices are not too bad even for regular items, sales are completely awesome and the accessories ROCK. I was considering a "Queen Bitch" necklace (see below) as well...but...uh... ;-)

Should I get it? :-D

How about this? SWAG one would suit me better...

Rimmel -25% ?! Whaa!

-25% on all things Rimmel plus my -10% coupon. Saves a ton.
Anyway, I've been noticing some pinkish makeup tones on my face lately and it really doesn't match my neck so I started looking for something more on the yellow side. I was considering buying "darker" shades for the summer but turns out anything less than "lightest" makes my skin look like I am wearing mud on my face.

Therefore... 100 (Ivory) it is for Wake Me Up and Light for the new Rimmel 9 in 1 Matte BB Cream. Garnier, I still love you... but Rimmel costs half your price.

The lipstick by Kate is 106 and the accidentally over-saturated Stay Matte powder is a boring old 001 Translucent. (The culprit of the pinkish tones was most likely my old Stay Matte powder 003 Peach Glow which looked perfectly "light" inside the store.)

Exams Afterparty at Nameless Drugstore Co.

All exams done, I'm back home for a bit before I need to travel again to take care of some more uni-related stuff. Meanwhile, I am visiting local drugstores that are about as fun as ye ol' dirty socks. Still, I managed to dig out some interesting goodies.

Gliss Kur Million Gloss Shampoo - still loving the decor on the back of this tube. TESCO 2.99 €
RYOR Aknestop peel off mask - currently on my face. I checked 6 Czech drugstores for this one, nothing. It magically showed up at some nameless drugstores here my hometown in Slovakia.
EDIT: No longer on my face. Also, there is no hairs left on my face either. Not to self - remove slowly, this mask hurts.
Miss Sporty OHH TAN SO FINE Bronzing Powder - because my only existing bronzer has too many sparkles and is too orangey for contouring.
Bell Lipstick (13) - some Polish company I've never heard about but they had a stylish makeup stand. iTake.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick (04) - nameless drugstore had this in their sale basket. Not sure why, it's perfectly untouched. Though not exactly a summer colour.

And lastly - one irresistibly cute pen with frogs, some grape-sugar energy candy, and 2 discount coupons (nameless drugstore is nameless...but kinda cool).

Thursday 15 May 2014

There is never TOO MANY drugstores.

Some clever person decided we need an extra drugstore in the city centre. Now there's 8, all within 2 km radius. I celebrated by buying a new UMA eyeshadow palette to match my now black hair.

The pictures show both my UMA palettes, the old NUDE and the fresh SMOKEY. NUDE actually has deep dents in most the colours, I use it pretty much every day.

Dermacol Perfect Body Make-Up ... Fake Tan?

Waiting for my horrendous exam results. Have a review.

Dermacol Perfect Body Make-Up

Dermacol came up with something new for the summer - body makeup!
Which is cool...if it were...you know...actually makeup.

PIGments

Rossmann blessed me with this load of Essence Pigments on sale! Each cost 0.30 euro!

Oh, and this is Helmut, btw.
PIGments...get it? Pig...ments.

Wednesday 7 May 2014

Chanel, Lancôme - I touched it, it's something.

To celebrate my derpensdom, I made a quick round at Fann Parfumerie and swatched poshy lipsticks all over my hand. I  hereby officially proclaim myself the Queen of Paupers. I will never enter that shop again. See you in my dreams, perfect matte lipsticks!

I megustaed the ones I liked the most. Ignore the two nameless lip butters in the top row. I'm quite sure one of them was Burjois. The other one is no cheap shit either despite its sorry excuse of a pigmentation.

Whoa, Exams!!!

Exam period is here. Again. The semester flew by I don't even know how, but - as per usual - I have no idea what the hell it was all about. I was able to pop home and back last week, picking up my study materials. I also carried back a shitload of stuff, because unlike my swaggy, poshy flatmates, I have no one to drive me and my crap home. Trains it is and there will be many of those.

But on to the important things:
I've done some a lot of shopping...

Everyday School Essentials

Having a number of available drugstores to visit between lectures sure is convenient. Unless your timetable looks like Swiss cheese and you end up visiting each one of them WAYYY too often. I am pretty sure they must be questioning my sanity by now...

Here´s some stuff I obtained on my way to school.
(which normally takes me about three minutes, lol)
Complimentary Drugstore Coffee
Drugstore Discount Coupons
A pack of Fornetti  (sold right next to a drugstore)

The picture below is another side-effect of visiting said drugstores.
Stuff from the depths of our handbags (lipsticks only). The upper row belongs to my classmate, the lower one is my own:
Astor Soft Sensation 730
Miss Sporty Perfect Color 032 New Age
Catrice Ultimate Colour 320 Kiss Kiss Hibiscus
Essence 13 Love Me
Essence 08 Colour Crush

Lady Bandit 1st Chilling League

I've been coming back to see this one for a month now. First it cost a shitload, then it got discounted and cost half a shitload... and finally today it cost idon'tgiveafuckanymore so I bought it.

Did I really need a new hoodie? Probably not.
(I could always wear a potato sack, duh!)
Do I have clothes to go with it? Probably not.
Can I afford random stuff? Probably not.
Anyway... I regret nothing.

Personal London

I came across a handbag sale. This one had London thingies on it. I still can't get over it. So cute!

I won't even try to apologize for the crap quality of the pic.

Easter Homecoming

I finally arrived home after 2 ridiculously long months of Uni. With a ton of stuff. Mostly dirty clothes and school books I need to read. And makeup. And Monster High cat dolls...
(Only Catrine DeMew missing now!!!)

Spring ready!

Spring is here and the sun is showing a lot more often now, so I started feeling like I should show some more  joyful colours as well. Here´s a few fun items that I got for the "occasion".

Freshest Stuff in My Drawers / Makeup From Berlin + Clothes (PRIMARK, Cropptown, C&A, New Yorker)

I spent the last week in Berlin and even though there was very little time for shopping, I managed to bring back some shinnies. I must say though, I expected the drugstores there to be more exciting... turns out they sell pretty much the same stuff as Czech Republic.

However, I completely loved DM´s "p2 cosmetics". The eyeshadow pigmentation is amazing. I would gladly swap our local "s-he" for that, at least judging from the products I had the opportunity to try.

I also got some rags to put on, however, (again) I had very little time to browse properly. Enjoy!

You know something is wrong when...

...YOU HAVE FREAKIN' NIGHTMARES ABOUT THE BOOK YOU PAINFULLY READ FOR UNI THE DAY BEFORE!!!

I spent the night tossing around and feeling troubled because of some stupidass problem that doesn't even concern me. I even hit my elbow or something because it hurts like hell. Linguistic philosophies are evil and need to be purged... by shopping.

Triathlon Shopping: Aupark, Eurovea, My ♥ Bratislava

Uni is keeping me really busy lately, I barely have any time to waste. So to make that even worse, I went to Bratislava and wasted the whole weekend shopping, eating tasty garbage food, watching movies, etc. I will have to switch to ultra speed tomorrow to catch up with everything...
And now to the important stuff! Dermacol, Nivea, Essence...

My new shoes from Deichmann

Winter blinked by without even saying hello and I realized my old black spring ankle boots don´t fit my idea of fabulous anymore. So when I "accidentally" stumbled upon these... you know what happened.

#loveatfirstsight
Deichmann, cca 35 euro.

I might just be obsessed with sneaker wedges lately, these are my 3rd of the type. The heel is smaller than on the other two pairs though, so it will be even comfier to walk in. Can´t wait to put them on tomorrow, hope the weather stays just the way it is :-)

Tiny Little Treasures

Dear internet, this first week of the summer semester turned out to be so bad we decided to dub it "The Week of a Thousand Deaths".
An appropriate name to address the abominations that are our introductory lectures. A ton of books, a pile of useless assignments, a horror. There was only one way to go... retail therapy.

Retail Therapy: Summer Semester Started!

Dear internet, I went back to Uni today... the day started as expected - headache and two cold sores on my upper lip. I also failed at eyeliner and my overall face looked somewhat zombie-like. Buuuuut, that doesn't matter because I got stuffz and fluffz from my friend/classmate! She was my trusted watchful eye while I was home in Slovakia and made sure I didn't miss a single sale!

:sorry for the photo quality, my room is rather dark:
